Cirier Candles
There is nothing better than a good candle to create a civilized atmosphere after a long day with kids.
Some of my favorites are the scented Cirier Candles. CIR is one of the oldest candle producers in France and they produce candles for Guerlain, Cartier, Fragonard and many more.
Our friend Belinda introduced them to me (she bought so many that the owner of the shop thought that she was going to start up a shop)! The lovely thing about these candles is the little shop in the 6th arrondissement in Paris in which the staff take their time with every customer to find the right candle for the right occasion. I love their poetic description of each scent.
Some of my favourites are the croissant scented ones which honestly make you feel like you are surrounded by freshly baked bread, but they also have tomato scented, chocolate scented and wonderful freshly-washed-cotton scented ones.
If you are in the area, pop into the cute little shop on rue de Seine. You won’t be disappointed and probably will not leave empty handed…..

Wow! Croissant scented candles, now that would definitely make me want to light one. Great find! Merci Emilie.
A couple years ago Belinda told me I had to go to this shop. I tried once, but it was pouring down rain so the shop was crowded from people who took shelter inside, I had a crying baby who wanted to be fed, and it was christmas time, so it was decorated and festive. It was all too much for me, so I left the shop quickly.
I really must give it another go… i’m sure I would love the candles.
The candles are AMAZING! I stock up every time I am in Paris… my favourite are the ‘The (tea) Noir’ and the ‘Cotton Fleurs’… Oh! and the ‘Amber’ and the ‘Tuberuese’… The candle maker is lovely and last time even gave me 2 extra as a gift!! The also have a new line which are bigger candles used for creating a room ‘ambience’… these are sooo lovely.. maybe I should pack up in London and move to Paris and work there….
