Aveda ’smooth infusion’

March 25th, 2008

Aveda Smooth InfusionI have used Aveda hair products for as long as I can remember, and have been a faithful fan of the Shampure range for the past few years. I like how my hair feels really clean after shampooing, and how it seems to keep my hair cleaner for longer… (Seriously, I have been known to go a (very) long time in-between washes, and I really believe it’s because of ‘Shampure’… well, and the fact that my hair is uber-thick)!

The other day I walked into the Aveda store in Kensington to stock up on shampoo and conditioner, and the lady took one look at me standing there, arms filled with the big bottles of ‘Shampure’, and said, “Do you know about our new line, Smooth Infusion? It would be great for your hair!” (Hmmm… so, obviously I’m not the only person who thinks my frizzy hair could use some help)! I took her recommendation and am very happy with my new products…

Aveda Smooth Infusion is made of an exclusive plant infusion derived from organic aloe, maize and guar bean. It is meant to moisturize and reduce frizz leaving smoother and softer hair. My long, thick hair –part wavy, part frizzy, part dry– really does feel softer and smoother (even if I don’t blow-dry)!

Now, the test will be if I can go as long without washing my hair… because, let’s be honest, if I can barely manage to brush my teeth twice a day, I don’t know how I’ll find the time to wash my hair more than I already do!

Don’t you just love that sort of comment. Last time I went to buy a new toner when I’d finished my old one the guy (which somehow made it worse) had a look at my face a little too close for comfort and said “your skin is looking stressed and dehydrated, what moisturiser are you using?”!

Aiming at one’s insecurities…isn’t that the best sales tactic?
