Bad hair day? Never again.
January 22nd, 2008
My hair is not straight, but it isn’t curly either. I’m in that grey area in between, and it’s a difficult place to be–especially if you live in humid places… like London or Milan.
I don’t have time to style my hair everyday, so after many years of experimenting I’ve decided that the “straight look” is the best: it’s practical and lasts much longer than the wavy one. I also have invested in zillions of round brushes and a top-of-the-range blow-dryer (I’ll tell you about this another time), and my wrist is now as strong as an ATP tennis player’s. But humidity (and my scooter helmet) always won!
That was before ghd (good hair day) ceramic hair straighteners entered my life. Now it takes me much less time to get my hair straight, and it stays straight for longer, which is a blessing when you are a busy mum! They are definitely the best; ever wondered how Jennifer Aniston got that sleek look? GHD, exactly!
These ceramic stylers do much more that straightening; you can do curls, flicks or waves… and the most recent version has multi-voltage for international use.
The ghd site sells directly in the UK, but if you live in Europe or the US you can buy them from HQhair.

I also have this type of hair. it drives me nuts! i used to use this straightener when I lived in the states, but it never worked when i brought it over here, so i must have had an older version.
But yes- it is brilliant and does wonders for the hair. I just seriously can’t be bothered anymore. my hair is constantly in a messy bun these days… and i’m thinking about cutting it all off!!!

I have used the cheap straighteners but in December spent the money on a Chi brand. It is wonderful. It is so worth the money and I love how my hair looks!!
