Slipper/socks

January 10th, 2008

Falke CatspadsEsther turned me on to Falke back in September when we went on a search for the perfect wool tights and black leggings. We found them at Fenwick on Bond Street, and it was here that my obsession with Falke began. Esther also convinced me to buy a few pairs of Falke socks, and I loved them so much I went back and bought a bunch for my husband as well. (Now we are both huge “Falke followers”)!!

Falke makes socks for kids too! Short and long, solid or stripes, cotton or wool- there are loads of options, and the quality is superb. One of my favorites are the Catspads. They are a slipper/sock with a non-slip sole. They are cute and cozy, and perfect for these cold winter mornings. (And now that my 8-month old is walking, they are great for keeping him from sliding around on the wood floors)!

I thought Falke was just a European obsession (apparently they are the largest hosiery company in Europe) until I went to Los Angeles over the holidays and found an entire store devoted to Falke socks on 3rd Street. “They are simply the best,” said the store manager, “I only wear Falke.” Apparently the Americans are catching on to Europe’s best-known socks, and “Falke followers” are multiplying!

Yes, I do love these socks. My baby boy is now wearing his sister’s hand-me-downs, but it’s not that bad, since they still look like new (and they have been worn a lot!).
My husband is actually the one that got me hooked in the first place (he has an absolute sock addiction which does, in a way, justify my pen addiction :-) ). His favourite Falke socks are the Falke Airport!

Arianna has a big selection of these socks since wearing slippers in the house is not an option!

i am a german living in milan and always find a way of getting german products here…falke socks, for example, are available on http://www.nylons-strumpfhosen-shop.de and they also ship to milan for free if you order at least EUR100 worth of merchandise (not hard for me, with 4 children!)
    enjoy browsing!
