A Bra Dilemma

November 7th, 2007

My baby is now 6 1/2 months old and I had been thinking about making the big switch from breast-feeding to bottles for the past couple of weeks. Well, there’s nothing like having the flu (and handing the baby over to your husband to watch) to kick that thought into gear! After being sick for two days last week (and only feeding him in the night time), I decided that enough was enough! It was the perfect time to stop. (Six and a half months is a pretty long time, if you ask me).

So, now I am officially finished nursing. And alas, some changes ensue… Now I have to be a bit more organized when it comes to leaving the house; do I have bottles, formula, etc? It’s also not so easy in the night-time to quickly nurse him back to sleep. I end up stumbling to the kitchen in the darkness to mix the formula and water. BUT, those things aside, I feel good- a bit more independent, (and he doesn’t seem to mind either)!

However…

Elle Macpherson Maternelle Bra …the one change I’m finding difficult is the switch from nursing bra back to normal bra! I mean, I’m happy to go back to underwire (and the lift that it provides), but I do really LOVE my Elle Macpherson Maternelle nursing bra! It’s really comfortable, it’s cute (as far as nursing bras go), and my favorite thing about it is the way it looks when I’m wearing a low-cut top and you can see it sticking out beneath. It looks as if I’m wearing a cute, lacy camisole under things (like a wrap-dress, for example), when, in fact, all I’m wearing is a bra!

Soo… here’s my dilemma: What do I wear to replace my beloved nursing bra? I couldn’t possibly keep wearing it, could I? (I suppose no one would know).

Is there something that could replace it?! I’ve searched Fig Leaves and haven’t found anything. I’ve also searched Elle Machperson’s whole range of bras and can’t find a similar non-nursing alternative.

Any ideas?

P.S. If you’re nursing (or are expecting) and want the perfect nursing bra- you know where to go… (I got mine from Seraphine, and they deliver to all EU countries)!
